About me

I design rituals to mark life’s biggest and most surreal moments with words, community, and aesthetic experience. I have officiated weddings, and planned two weddings and a funeral. These experiences are unique and emotional, designed with deep attention to the story of those they honor. There is no one script to follow, and there are so many possibilities!

For weddings, getting to know you is where the work starts. How did you fall in love? What does marriage mean to you? How do you want your ceremony to feel? Then we collaborate, crafting a ceremony that enriches your special day, and a memory that lasts a lifetime. We can create something that calls in the divine, makes guests laugh and cry, has us all shouting, has those gathered in a state of contemplation on the miracles of life and love. Or all of that.

My wedding ceremony was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. It was like falling in love again. My spouse and I entered into a portal as we stepped under the chuppah. There, we were held, described, blessed, witnessed, sung to, and cheered for. We laughed and cried multiple times throughout those thirty minutes.

My Background

I have a PhD in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley. I research and write about art and culture, and the exquisite detail in which our universal stories play out. I am bilingual in Mandarin and English.

In my free time, I hike with my black lab, visit family, practice yoga, and eat cake.

Queer the wedding! Love is the answer to all existential questions! Meaning for all!
